In this unstable world, you are still the product

The whole world feels unstable and for once, my own brain doesn’t seem to be along for the ride. However, I’m not writing nearly as much as I would like. I’m not working on any projects nearly as much as I would like. The need for immediate income has taken over the long, drawn out process of creation.

And I understand that is where people find the need for Generative AI. Capitalism.

If we took out capitalism, the AI landscape would be vastly different, if existent at all.

I admit I’ve tried it. I admit that I spent a while training the models because the cash was there, but also to understand it. And to tell you the truth, there is no reason we should be relying on it for anything at this point. It is dangerous, maybe not in the dystopian sci-fi kind of way (though, definitely getting there), but its impacts on human cognition in an already compromised society is absolutely frightening.

AI isn’t the only thing being programmed.

You are still the product.

Don’t forget that your own brain is its own kind of super computer.
